Add a tall, Bold coffee to retweets and pictures as one more thing Canadians will be able to share over Twitter.
On Thursday, Starbucks Canada and Twitter Canada announced a new e-gifting program known as “Tweet-a-Coffee” which will enable Canadian Twitter users to send Starbucks gift cards to their friends over the social networking service, in 140 characters or less.
“We’re excited for Starbucks to bring this program to Canada,” Kirstine Stewart, head of Twitter Canada, said in a statement.
“Shared experiences, be they a television show, a sporting event, or a thoughtful gift, are at the heart of the Twitter experience and to what it means to be a modern brand.”
According to Twitter, this is the first Twitter-based e-gifting program to launch in Canada (the program was launched in the United States last year) and is part of the recently-turned-public company’s efforts to further monetize its service.
